Day 31

Today, I went to the Royal Botanical Garden. It was beautiful, I got to see plants from all over the world. This was a good break from the hustle and bustle of the city, and after a few hours in there, I didn’t want to leave. It made me happy to see cacti, with all the beautiful things here, I didn't realize that I missed cactus. All the pretty flowers make me happy. All of the diverse trees they maintain there are very impressive, and also made me happy.

Hugo was actually pretty good with me today during the time that I had him, Elena took him to a dentist appointment, so I had some time with just the girls. Good day. I attempted to help Sofia with her math homework, but it was difficult. The directions were in French, and I could barely remember the geometrical formulas in English, let alone explain how to use them in Spanish. We struggled through a few problems with our broken languages, and then decided to set the math aside for when Elena returned. Fail, but I tried and helped a little.

It’s in the 90s here during the day, and there are no fans in the house, Dana and Elena just open all the windows, so it’s a bit toasty in the flat. The sun doesn’t set until 9:30ish, so it’s hard to convince the kids to come back from the urba when the weather is finally getting nice just before 9. Nicer, I should say, sitting in my room writing this, I’m sweating, but I don’t mind it. I walk all day in the heat here, and have an easier time with it than Elena and Dana. I'm still sure that the increased dry Arizona heat will hit harder when I return. 29 more days.

  1. Hi Bitz!

We were thinking you should buy a disposable camera or something and take some real pictures of Spain? :). Miss you, Lindsay

  2. My Treat of the Day has been reading all of your entries. This is my first "free" day for months and months, and although I have a discouragingly huge bunch of disorder to untangle in the next few days, I have just let myself take an incredible vacation to Spain with you! Muchisimas gracias! (Sorry, I haven't figured out diacritical markings and inverted punctuation yet for blogspot.) Que los angelitos sigan contigo continuamente.
