Driving
through the mountains in the North of Spain was definitely the most beautiful
drive I have ever been on. It is so green with the thickest vegetation I have
ever seen. It is fun to see where Elena gets her mannerisms. Sophia insisted
that everyone watch me eat the shrimp after having made a spectacle of myself the last time. Elena’s parents are very nice.
This
afternoon, we met up with Elena’s sister’s family, also very nice. The other
adults went off and sent me with the kids to go cross Bizkaia Bridge, a world
heritage site. It was pretty neat. We crossed in what was like a bus,
but it hangs from the top part of the bridge and glides.
Afterwards
we went to a Plaza with a playground and some open space next to a bunch of
stores. It was packed. In the play area, there were probably 15 soccer balls
flying around, and some kids passing soccer balls to friends who had climbed on
top of the playground structures. Kinda cool.
It’s so cold here! I thought I was
done with cold. Ay!
In
this flat I share a little room with Claudia and Sophia. I think this will make
the rest of the trip easier as I’m looking forward to going back to Pozeulo
where I have my room and internet, ‘going home,’ so to speak. Now, I just have to push
through feeling a little bit uncomfortable with the close and personal living
arrangements with people I barely know to get through the next three days.
