Thus
terminates the first ¼ of my trip.
We
made the beautiful drive back to Pozuelo, again I was blown away by how
beautiful Northern Spain is. I have to say God is my favorite artist and his
natural creations trump any of the man-made architecture and art that I’ve seen
here, as marvelous as they are.
Five
hours in the car with this family actually wasn’t too bad. Except that
sometimes they like to blast cheesy kid Spanish and French music—shoot me in
the face, and Hugo likes to yell in my ear. While we were in Gorliz this little
bundle of joy told his grandparents how bad of a girl I am. I’m so good to this
little brat! Ugh. They just laughed and shook their heads. It’s gotten to a
point where Elena just says that maybe it’s better that I work in the kitchen
while she bathes Hugo. I won’t protest that. My patience is running thin with
this undisciplined child.
The
girls got to laugh at me again trying to eat fish—which looks like it just came
from the ocean at dinner. Again, I had to be taught the tips for graciously
removing the meat from the bones. I feel pretty stupid sometimes.
It’s
nice to be back where I have wi-fi in my own room, such a luxury. I did love
Bilbao and am grateful that I got to see it. It sounds like the family is going
again in June for their grandfather’s birthday. I might get a chance to visit
again.
