In
order to be more fully immersed in the Spanish ways, I toured El Estadio de
Santiago Bernabeu. I definitely gained a better appreciation and respect for
soccer and Real Madrid. It has a pretty cool story. One of the advantages to
exploring by myself is that I get to go at my own pace, and I have noticed that
in all my visits to these marvelous places, I tend to go way slower than the
other tourists. I feel that while I'm there, I have to see and
read everything and spend as much time in the building as possible. It definitely goes quicker when captions are in English as well as Spanish, but sometimes I wonder who they are hiring to translate as the English grammar can be pretty bad for such a big publication. :) It’s pretty fun to hear all the different languages. I hear lots of forms of
Spanish, quite a bit of French, and I met some German guys today. It’s pretty
nifty that almost all of the Europeans I meet seem to speak English pretty
well.
I
felt pretty tired today and attributed it to the cloudy sky. I think I was
right, it definitely wasn’t just me as half of the people on the metro were
asleep, and everyone else looked half-dead. However, it was a beautiful day for
the kids to play in the urba. J Sophia and some of her
friends taught me some jump rope games in Spanish. It had been forever since I
had jumped rope! That brought back some good memories. The weather beckoned a
couple I had yet to meet to come down to the urba. It was fun to chat with them
and play with their darling baby girl. Good day. :)
