I
started the morning by going to the temple for baptisms. It was with the same
group from Portugal, but they were joined by many, many more. They all came
exclusively for the temple trip, they are beautiful. I have met so many amazing
people on this trip. The temple President and his wife spoke in English with a
Portuguese translator—very simple, incredibly profound messages, it was
marvelous. Of course, the ordinances were done in Portuguese again, but this
time the water was warm. Having such wonderful experiences this week in the
temple has made me feel more resolutely that this trip was worth it. Perhaps
someday I will be able to come back and see all of it. Such a gorgeous temple.
I
failed to find the museum I had planned for today, but I wandered and found the
next best thing: HAMMOCKS! Oh yeah! I discovered some very nice gardens next to
the river by Casa de Campo. There
was a great view of the Almudena Cathedral, and I ended up walking to it and
visiting the cript. It was interesting, I do love this cathedral.
Work
was work, some good moments with Hugo, though he was a pill, per usual. He says ugly, hurtful things to
me every day, but apparently he called me something particularly nasty today, due to
the reactions of Elena and the girls. I didn’t understand the meaning, and I
don’t remember the word so I’ll never know which is good. Now my work is
finished until Monday and I'm lip-synching with dramatic gestures and faces while my sugar muffins Brian, Chris, Mario, Ne-yo, and Usher serenade me with their slow grooves before the crazy weekend commences. I love this. I'm in Spain. This is awesome. :)
I'm jealous. I wish I could have been involved with baptisms for the dead in Portuguese. Eu criei um amor para os portugas trabalhando no CTM. É claro que amo o povo brasileiro!
ReplyDeleteI thought about you Kevin, I know you would have loved it. Wish you could have been there with me.
